A short and pleasant walk leads from San Martino in Passiria to the small Gilf Waterfall

The "Schwimmbad" bus stop in San Martino in Passiria is the starting point for two destinations: the local outdoor swimming pool and the Gilf Waterfall. The route is around two kilometres long and takes about 45 minutes. It is therefore ideal for families with children, but is not suitable for pushchairs. Paths number 1A and - after the Haselstaude inn - number 1C show the way.
At the inn, as well as from a machine on the circular path, you can buy wooden balls for the ball run at the waterfall. This is a special feature that invites children and teenagers to play and also delights many adults. It is relaxing to watch the wooden ball on its way to the finish. The waterfall is not particularly high - the highest waterfall in South Tyrol, the Fragsburg Waterfall, can also be found in the Merano area.
Nevertheless, it is a popular destination in the Val Passiria and a beautiful spot in nature. The path is accessible all year round and, in summer, can be easily combined with a visit to the outdoor swimming pool in San Martino in Passiria, which also has a sauna area.
