Marlengo High-Altitude Trail

This beautiful autumn hike leads through the forests of the Montetramontana mountain above the village of Marlengo.

The Val Venosta Train takes us from Marlengo to Tel Ponte where we can start our hike straight away - the first signpost to the locality of Quadrato can be found at the train station. We follow the path no. 29 uphill through the deciduous forest until we reach the meadows of the Quadrathöfe farms. Now the pleasant section of the hiks is ahead of us.

We pass the Niederhof, Gramegg and Brünnl rest points along the path no. 35A (Marlengo High-Altitude Trail). The properly maintained hiking trail leads us slightly downhill to the Senn am Egg tavern. At this point the view opens up on the valley basin of the spa town of Merano, on the villages of Lagundo and Tirolo as well as on the entrance of the Val Passiria valley.

We enjoy the pleasant walk on this beautiful autumn day, hiking through a mixed forest. At the end of the Marlengo High-Altitude Trail we turn into the asphalt road no. 33 to Marlengo. Walking back to our starting point, we enjoy a last view on Merano and its surroundings.

Please note: the hike is shadow-sided, so you won't sweat even on warm autumn days!
