Tel

Along the Adige river there is the locality of Tel, starting point of the cultural trail dedicated to Peter Mitterhofer

The village of Tel, located at about 500 m a.s.l., is considered to be the gate to the Meraner Land and is distant only a 10 minutes’ car drive from the town of Merano. Thanks to the station “Tel ponte“ the village is directly connected to the Val Venosta railway line, which is perfect to make day trips to Bolzano, Merano and the Val Venosta valley.

Ideal for promenading is, however, the Peter Mitterhofer Trail, starting right in the village and stretching to the typewriter museum in Parcines. Also the Marlengo Waalweg path and the Lagundo Waalweg path start in the village and are particularly popular for spring walks. Also worth a visit is the K&K Museum Bad Egart, dedicated to the history of the Habsburgs, as well as to the South Tyrolean ethnic history. Last but not least you should visit the S. Helena Church that was first mentioned in 1326, but is considered to be several centuries older.
