The “Passerschluchtenweg” Path

In the San Passiria Gorge, between S. Leonardo and Moso in Passiria, a hiking route has been developed, with help of a spectacular metal construction. Since 2015 the route offers the possibility to experience the power of water really close to the action

We start in S. Leonardo in Passiria and walk past the sports grounds to the starting point of the path no. 1, which proceeds along the northern bank of the still slow-flowing Passer stream into the valley. After about 20 minutes we reach the bridge, where the actual hiking trail through the gorge starts and the stream becomes livelier. First we walk through the forest and reach already the first of the numerous bridge constructions made of steel, which were carefully fitted into the natural landscape.

The view on the wildly rushing Passer river and the Stulles Waterfalls on the opposite valley side accompanies us for a while. Long sections of the route proceed over gratings, which are perfect viewing platforms and care for step security. About 10 minutes off our route, the Hinterbrugger Farm Inn is located, which is a good possibility to have a break. The last section of our tour proceeds across larger bridge constructions until close to Moso in Passiria. Here we take the possibility to walk towards Plata and come back to S. Leonardo again along the path no. 6.

Please note: only the section through the gorge takes about half the time. Either then you walk back along the same route or you take the public bus from Moso back to S. Leonardo.
