The largest municipality in terms of surface area of the Val Passiria has got some 2,200 inhabitants and comprises the localities of Moso, Plata, Plan, Stulles, Ulvas and Corvara in Passiria and stretches from 774 m in the valley to the 3,480 m high peak of the Altissima. Moso in Passiria is a village that has an alpine character and is the ideal place for people who love to spend hiking holidays in alpine areas, what also the municipal coat of arms affirms. The Alta Via Meranese is only one of the possibilities you have in the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park, which is impressive above all in the period of alpine rose blossom.
Moso in Passiria is a member of the “Alpine Pearls”, which is a network of holiday destinations guaranteeing comfortable holidays in full respect of nature. Soft mobility and the protection of nature are the cornerstones of this network, emphasising also the cultural diversity in the Alps.
The Adventure Mine of Monteneve, the Bunker Mooseum, the Stieber and Stulles Waterfalls are part of the sights of the municipality, from which the high alpine road of Passo del Rombo stretches towards Austria. Along this former bridle path five walk-in sculptures are being established in the frame of a trans-border project between Hochgurgl in North Tyrol and the Val Passiria, providing information on history, nature and culture of this area. Winter sports enthusiast, however, are on the right place in the Plan Skiing Area, offering 10 km of slopes.
