video : Val Senales Skiing Area
Skiing on a mountain of 3,000 metres, an everyday activity in Val Senales! The skiing area with lower terminus at Maso Corto takes skiers and snowboarders at an altitude of 3,200 metres at the top of the Hochjochferner. This is where skiing fun begins, surrounded by a great panoramic view as well as crystal clear alpine mountain air. The offer in this glacial skiing area includes 35 km of well-groomed ski slopes, the 8 km long valley run "Schmugglerabfahrt", 12 state-of-the-art lift facilities and it gives variety, both to beginners and experts.
6 - 7 km of slopes are considered to be difficult, in general the slopes are easy or of medium difficulty. Snow is guaranteed from September/October to May. And that is new, as before the Senales Glacier was considered a whole year-round skiing area. In summer, various ski teams used to exercise on the glacier. Since 2013 the skiing area is open to the public from September/October to May. In summer months, the funicular is in operation in order to ferry up hikers and people that would like to admire the stunning view from the top of the glacier.
Also the little ones feel at ease in this skiing area, thanks to the ski kindergarden "Pinocchio" and the ski kinderland "ÖTZIlino", where children can play with their mates and at the same time learn how to ski. Moreover the skiing area comprises a 3.3 km long toboggan run. For snowboarders a snowpark is available in the skiing area.
Please note: Due to renovation work, the glacier cable car will remain closed after the end of the season until December 2023.
