From a historical viewpoint, Lauregno was first mentioned in 1274 as “Laurus“, which is a Latin term meaning laurel. Characteristic for Lauregno are the late-Gothic parish church which has now existed for 1,500 years now, as well as the century-old farms in the village. Lauregno is the southernmost village in Alta Val di Non. On the one hand it fascinates due to the tranquillity it radiates, on the other hand due to the fabulous view on the Maddalene and Brenta mountain ranges, the Presanella glacier and the sun-drenched Catinaccio. An special viewpoint called “Hea“ is located above the village, the view on the Catinaccio mountains is particularly impressive from this point. Lauregno can be reached from Lana via the Val d’Ultimo or via the Passo delle Palade.
