At the Monte Sole mountain, above Lagundo, the mountain village of Velloi is located. On mild autumnal days, the ascent can be managed without significant difficulties and the varied landscape can be experienced to the fullest

At the valley station of the chair lift in Plars di Mezzo, the path no. 20 through the vineyards of Lagundo starts. After about 15 minutes the Lagundo Waalweg path is reached (Cafe Konrad). We follow the irrigation channel towards Plars. At the Gasthof Leiter tavern, path no. 21 towards Velloi branches off to the right. The forest path proceeds steeply uphill the mountain slope, parallel to the Velloi Road which is crossed for several times.

After a while we reach a clearing and the first farms of Velloi are already within reach. Here the panoramic view opens up, first towards the Val Venosta and then, at the church, towards Merano and Bolzano. The sunny village of Velloi offers several rest points, today we choose the Gasthof Oberlechner tavern, furthermore there are the Gasteiger, Ladurner and Vellauerhof Taverns. Four our way back we take the same route, alternatives can be path no. 25A or by chair lift).
