Hike to the hamlets of Mora and Sant’Orsola

This short spring hike at the eastern slope of the Val Passiria valley offers an interesting insight into the life of these small mountain villages

If you want to do this hike, we suggest you to check the weather and trail conditions in advance and on site before setting out.

We start our hike in the village of San Martino in Passiria, more precisely at the wooden bridge over the Passirio river. First we follow the path no. 5 towards Mora, passing the golf course near Prantach. The steep ascent starts - we follow the Way of the Cross up to the hamlet of Mora. Our effort is rewarded by a fantastic view on the valley and a visit to the beautiful local church.

We continue our walk through the forest until we reach the meadows of the Staudenhöfe farms. The trail enters the forest again and proceeds towards the hamlet of Sant'Orsola. The last section follows an asphalt road which leads us through the nice village centre with the St. Ursula Church. Then we walk downhill into the valley and follow the Passirio Path to Saltusio.

For the way back to San Martino in Passiria you can either take the bus or return along the Passirio Path (Passerweg, no. 30) by foot.
