The mountain village of Montaccio is located on a sunny terrace high above the Val Passiria
Montaccio, this is the name of a little dispersed settlement at 1,052 m a.s.l. located directly above San Martino on the slopes of the Gruppo di Tessa mountains. It is dominated by the 2,179 m high Cima Matatz. The village mainly consists of a series of mountain farms and has about 100 inhabitants.
The village is also a popular stopover for tours on the Alta Via Meranese high path. Moreover you can scale the Cima Matatz from the village.
