Gruppo di Tessa

The Gruppo di Tessa with its homonymous nature park is a subgroup of the Oetztal Alps and extends in South Tyrol

The Gruppo di Tessa is a hiking paradise and provides a series of excursion destinations. The mountain range is integrated into the homonymous nature park, comprising the municipalities of Senales, Naturno, Parcines, Lagundo, Tirolo, Rifiano, San Martino and Moso in Passiria and also includes the Alta Via Meranese high path. On a length of 90 km, it stretches across the Gruppo di Tessa and is considered one of the most beautiful hiking trails of the Alpine area. It takes from 3 to 6 days and makes you discover the fascinating Central Alps.

In the south the Gruppo di Tessa borders on the Val d’Adige, in the east on the Val Passiria, in the west there is the Val Senales and in the north the Val di Fosse as borderline between the Gruppo di Tessa and the mountains of the Val Senales. The highest mountain of the Gruppo di Tessa is the Monte Rosso (3,337 m). Further noticeable summits are the Cima Tessa (3,318 m), Cima Bianca Grande (3,281 m) and Cigot (2,998 m), which is known as fabulous panoramic mountain.
