Theme Trail “Hinzl” Tablà

On this leisurely circular hike through the meadows and forests around Tablà near Naturno, 15 stations with lots of interesting facts await young and old

Our circular hike starts in the centre of the small village of Tablà near Naturno. We park next to the primary school and follow signpost no. 4. Shortly afterwards we reach the beginning of the "Hinzl" Theme Trail. The path is named after little men who are said to have done mischief here. 15 stations invite you to discover stories and historical events from crafts and rural life. For example, we learn that in the past, wood was brought from the forest to the valley in a dangerous journey on sledges in winter, or that thanks to the lime kilns, liquid lime was extracted from the stones in the area for a wide variety of uses.

The path leads us uphill into the forest and after a few serpentines we reach a viewpoint. From here we look down on the Adige valley below and the entrance to the Val Senales valley on the opposite side, with Juval Castle enthroned on a hill. A wooden lounger invites to a short break. The trail continues through the forest, then along a pasture area and finally downhill through apple orchards. Again and again, we immerse ourselves in the history of this area thanks to the information boards along the way. The last part of the hike we walk on the asphalted road with little traffic and return to our starting point after about 1.5 hours of walking.
